On the Air Corps. Reel 1 shows street scenes in London and Paris; artillery and infantry units moving into the Maginot Line; and the installation of air raid shelters, the issuance of gas masks to civilians, and an air raid drill in Paris. Gens. Marshall and Arnold confer. P-38's are manufactured at the Lockheed plant in Calif. Aircraft models are tested at a Dayton (Ohio) research center. Cadets arrive at Randolph Field, Texas, fly training planes in formation, and graduate. Reel 2, Gens. Marshall, Arnold, and Andrews confer. B-17's take off; Gen. Emmons poses; bombs are armed; and P-38's take off from Langley Field, Va. Diagrams the placement of and shows listening posts in the U.S. B-18's take off and reconnoiter over the Atlantic. Bombs are loaded into B-17's; the planes take off from Langley Field; and fly in formation. Antiaircraft is set up and barrage balloons are hoisted in France and England.
